Blotpath is a walking atlas. The city is your canvas. You paint real streets by walking them. Lines fade if you stay away. Solo walks stay on this phone. A party expedition is optional.
Precise location is used only after you start a walk or ride, so the line can follow the street. If the phone is locked in a pocket, location continues until you cancel or set the ink. A blue system bar shows that this is happening. Location stops when the walk ends. We do not use Always permission. We do not track you when you are not walking.
The watch app can start the same walk from your wrist. Location is used only during that walk. An outdoor run or ride is written to Health so the watch can keep GPS with the wrist down. Ending the walk stops location and finishes the workout. The painted line is sent to the phone. We do not read your Health history, heart rate, or other Health records.
If you join an expedition, the finished walk line is stored in iCloud (CloudKit) so friends in that party can see the shared canvas. We do not publish a live map pin of where you are. The meeting-point of the expedition is stored so the group knows which neighborhood they are covering. Leave the expedition to stop sharing. Friends must also be signed into iCloud. There is no public map of strangers, and records are only opened with the join code.
Your personal atlas (walks, stamps, ink) lives in a file on this device. Party ink is stored in CloudKit so the group can share one canvas. There is no email account, no ads, and no analytics SDK in this version.
We do not sell location. We do not share a live pin. We do not use your path for advertising. We do not read Health history.
You can deny location in iOS Settings, or on the watch. The atlas still opens; new walks will not paint. You can leave a party at any time. Deleting the app removes the local atlas file.
